The Flat Earth

? 1. The Earth as a Fixed Disc or Surface

Job 38:13–14

“That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it. It is turned as clay to the seal, and they stand forth as a garment.”

? The “ends of the earth” imply a limited area, not an endless sphere. The image of clay under a seal suggests a flat surface being imprinted.

Isaiah 40:22

“It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers.”

? The Hebrew word chug (חוּג) means “circle” or “disc,” not “sphere” (dur would mean “ball”). The text therefore speaks of a circular surface, with a throne above it.

Proverbs 8:27

“When He prepared the heavens, I was there: when He drew a circle upon the face of the deep.”

? Again chug – a circle upon the face of the deep. Heaven is stretched over a surface — this sounds like separation between above and below, like a disc with a dome.

?️ 2. Firm Foundations and Pillars of the Earth

1 Samuel 2:8

“For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He hath set the world upon them.”

? A sphere needs no “pillars” or “foundations.” This describes a stable, resting surface on firm supports.

Job 9:6

“He shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.”

? The earth has “pillars” — an architectural, standing structure, not a freely floating ball in space.

Psalm 104:5

“Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved forever.”

? An unmoving, fixed earth — not rotating or traveling through space.

? 3. The Firmament and the Waters Above

Genesis 1:6–8

“And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

? The word raqia (רָקִ֫יעַ) literally means “something hammered out” or “solid expanse” — a solid dome above the earth separating the upper waters from the lower ones.

1 Enoch 33:2–4 (Apocrypha)

“I saw the ends of the earth where the heaven rests, and the gates of heaven open.”

? Enoch describes reaching the “ends of the earth,” where he sees the openings through which the sun, moon, and stars go in and out — a clear picture of a flat, domed earth.

? 4. The Sun and Moon Moving Over the Earth

Ecclesiastes 1:5

“The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.”

? The observer sees the sun move across the sky — not the earth moving around the sun. This fits the idea of a flat plane with the sun passing above it.

1 Enoch 72:3–5

“And the sun goes forth through the gates of heaven and sets through the gates of the west, and returns to the gates of the east.”

? The sun moves over the earth, entering and leaving through heavenly gates — not a rotating planet.

? 5. Ends, Borders, and Corners of the Earth

Revelation 7:1

“And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth.”

? The earth has “four corners” — a geometric image fitting a flat map or square plane.

Daniel 4:10–11

“I saw a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great. The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth.”

? Only on a flat earth could a tree be visible “to the ends of all the earth.”
